  1. Result of National Competitions

This is the best ever month for the Club in the National competitions.  Our bowler had done exceptionally well in the 2018 National Championship Finals Day (Summer) held at Filipino Club on Sunday 1st July 2018 and 2018 National Indoor Singles Championship held at CCC on Saturday 14th July 2018.  Five Championships and one Runner-up were bagged.  Congratulation to our bowlers for the results achieved.

  1. Renovation of Indoor Green

Work commenced on the 9th July and is currently progressing in accordance with the program to allow re-opening of the Green on 8th August 2018.  Redecoration works to the ceiling over the standing and sitting area adjacent to the bowls store is in progress with completion expected before the green is reopened.  The upgrading of the Chilled water supply to the additional air conditioning outlets has not yet commenced and may not be completed before reopening.  Access to the indoor bowls lockers and store room has and will be maintained.

Just a gentle remind that Section members may be required to hire public indoor green as their home green for National Indoor Pairs during the close of the Indoor Green.  They can claim back the hiring fees from the Section’s Treasurer but they have to present the relevant receipts.

The Outdoor Green will be reopened after maintenance on Sunday 29th July 2018.

  1. Training Courses Organized by Section coach Tony Cheung

The Improving Clinic will run on 2, 10, 15 and 24 August 2018 and the Beginners’ Course enrolment form will be available at the 1/F Sports Desk for registration.  The entries deadline will be on 15th August 2018.

  1. Re-claim of Lockers from In-active Section members and Section members not playing for the Club

We have previously collected those lockers occupied by the Absence members and allocated to the currently leagues players.  For the Second stage of the re-claim exercise we will collect lockers from those Section members who have not actively play for the Club in both Premier and Triple Leagues for over 5 years and those Section members who are playing for other clubs but occupying the Section’s lockers.

In late July the Section will issue letters to the above-mentioned Section members concerning the details of the re-claim of their occupied lockers through the Club Management.  They are required to clear their assigned locker/lockers on or before Sunday 26th August 2018.

  1. Sponsorship of Lawn Bowls Section

I am pleased to inform that Concord Industrial and Commercial Development Enterprise Ltd will sponsor the Lawn Bowls Section in the sum of HK$150,000 over a total period of 3 years commencing from 1st May 2018 and finishing on 30th April 2021.  The Sponsorship Fee shall be paid by three annual payment of HK$50,000.  It is agreed by the Company that part of the Sponsorship Fee may use by the Section for the reimbursement of the monthly membership subscriptions of Junior Associate Member of the Club and the balance may be used for other similar purposes, at the sole discretion of the Section.  I took this opportunity to thank Mr. Bolly YIM for his support to the Section’s activities.

  1. New Bowls Shirts and White Track Pant

The new bowls shirt with the Sponsored Company’s logo is under production and hope to issue to the Section bowlers before the start of the 2nd half of the Premier Leagues.  The addition long pant will be ordered and the expected delivery will be around October 2018.

  1. HKCC and CCC Friendly game 2018

The HKCC Friendly game will be held at HKCC on Saturday 11th August 2018 start from 2:30pm and the Friendly game with CCC will be held at CCC on Saturday 18th August 2018 start from 2:30pm respectively.  Entry forms will be issued and posted on the Indoor Green notice board on 28th July 2018.  Please put down your names if you have interest to participate at the event.
